We all experience fear one way or another in our life. Some fears are a natural response to keep us safe and some we have learned along the way, through different experiences or from other people.
What if some of the fears that we’ve learned don’t really serve us and allow us to grow? What if they keep us stuck in the same patterns of behavior that can prevent us from moving forward with our life purpose, our dreams and goals?
Until I became more aware of the body & mind connection and how our thoughts and emotions can influence our choices, I used to live my life on autopilot. Some of my choices were based on fear and not on awareness and many times I would allow myself to play small because it was too scary to step out of my comfort zone.
Our comfort zone is a place that does not challenge us. It’s a comfortable place. But is it really? It wasn’t that comfortable for me because deep down I knew I was missing on some of the fun. I felt there was more for me to explore and experience, if I would only allow myself to let go of some of these fears and trust life a bit more. I must admit that I needed a bit of a push, but life has its own way of pushing us out of that comfort, to helps us open new doors of opportunities and explore new adventures.
It can be scary when you step into the unknown because it offers no guaranties. You don’t know if you will succeed at what you intent to succeed or if you will fail. There is no assurance of the outcome. But if you don’t try, how else would you find out?
So, do you allow your fears to stop you from being open to new opportunities or do you rise above them to learn, grow, and see what else is possible for you?
