In our busy day to day life, we tend to focus a lot of our energy and attention externally and often forget to take some time to also go inward, to just be present in the moment and simply be. Being stressed, feeling overwhelmed and living life on autopilot has become a ‘normal’ lifestyle for many people.
As much as we see our daily tasks as a priority it is also important to pay attention to our feelings, to what makes us happy and what causes us stress. Our persistent thoughts and emotions reflect what we chose to focus our attention on and what we need to change, so we can find a sense of balance. Taking at least few minutes each day to relax and be more present with your breath can help you feel more grounded and connected to your body and be more in touch with your energy.
When we look at our physical, mental and emotional aspects as a whole and not as separate parts we can then understand their connection and see how one influences the other. By becoming more self-aware of this connection we can make more conscious choices to better support our overall health and wellbeing.
The practice of Meditation is something we hear more and more about as a way to help us relax, de-stress, find inner peace and balance. There are a lot of benefits that come with practicing meditation regularly and studies have shown the positive effects it has on our wellbeing. There are different types of meditation and if you wonder which one is best for you, I think it is about listening to your intuition to see what best resonates with you at a certain point in your journey.
I like to look at it as a time and space I give to myself, as an opportunity to go deeper to connect and align with who I am at the core of my being. When we connect with our higher self and understand how it communicates with us, we can then differentiate between the usual mind chatter and our inner guidance which sees the whole picture. That is where meditation makes a huge difference because in that state we allow our body, mind, and spirit to come into an alignment to work together in perfect balance and harmony. And in that space of connection there is no place for doubt; only knowing and allowing.
