How can you support yourself through the changes we are currently experiencing and stay focused on your wellbeing?
If you are looking for ways to better take care of yourself and maintain your balance, here are few tips and simple practical tools you can use:
1. Breath.
This step is pretty simple. Find a quiet and comfortable place where you can sit. Close your eyes and be present with your breath. Gently, take few deeps breaths and center your energy. Spend few minutes in that space as you notice your breath return to normal.
2. Be kind to yourself.
We’re not always very good at this one. But why add more unnecessarily stress to yourself? You probably have enough on your plate. Be kind and remind yourself that you are doing your best.
3. Uplift your energy.
Can you think of something that makes you smile, that makes you feel good? Just one thing. If you find more, that’s great but you don’t need to try too hard. As you visualize this pleasant moment, pay attention to how you feel.
4. Practice and take notes
It takes practice to develop a new habit. If it’s a good habit, why not practice it?
Repeat these steps every day for a week and write down your experience. Notice if anything has changed for you or has not. Keep it simple and don’t set high expectations or look for big changes. You could rather look for more subtle changes, like if you feel a bit more at ease about something or clearer in the way you look at certain situations in your life. These are the types of changes that can create significant shifts as you move forward.
5. Create your own plan
Develop your own steps and routine to stay focused on your plan. Find what works for you and what you would like to continue practicing.
